Our Mission

The world is a beautiful place that inspires us every day. We also love technology and like many people we like to keep our phones close and protected with a durable phone case. With over 3.5 billion mobile phones in use around the world and over 80% of phone users using protective phone cases, there is a lot of plastic being used for phone cases every year.

An average phone user keep their device for 2 to 3 years while their plastic phone case lasts for up to 1000 years. According to industry estimates, over 1.5 Billion phone cases are sent to landfills or simply discarded as trash every year! You might be wondering why plastic phone cases are not recycled like other plastics such as PET used in packaging and water bottles. The simple answer is that sorting these specialized plastics is labor intensive and it is easier for the recycling company to mix various types of specialized plastics and send them to a landfill.

At CLASPP we want to change this by preventing specialized plastics from entering the recyclable household trash stream. Our return shipping program is designed to be cost effective and responsible so that specialized plastics used for phone cases can be recycled instead of ending up in a landfill.

We believe that most plastic phone case users would like to have the opportunity to get their phone cases recycled rather than spending the next thousand years or so in a landfill leaching micro plastics into our soil and water which absorb pesticides and metals and end up in our body.

We know that elimination of petroleum based plastics is the ultimate goal but it can only be achieved by working on suitable replacement materials that consume less energy to make than petrolem based plastics, are durable enough for use in a phone case and can ultimately biodegrade into basic nutrients and get recycled though the ecosystem.
